Optokon PM-240-MTP Multifiber Optical Power Meter
The PM-240-MTP optical power meter is designed to measure absolute or relative optical power in optical networks terminated with 12/24 multifiber MTP/MPO connectors in both SM (Single-Mode) and MM (Multi-Mode) fibers. The tester can simultaneously measure the optical power level in all up to 12 fibers from MTP/MPO connectors and can detect both “active” and “dark” fibers. This eliminates the need for branching from multifiber to single-fiber connectors. Together with the LS-240-MTP light source, it can measure insertion loss across all 12 fibers at the same time. Additionally, the polarity status of the fiber connection between both MTP connectors can be checked. The input connector ensures the connection between the measured MTP/MPO connector and the 12/24 photodetectors. Due to the physical contact between the connectors, cleanliness of both is required. A visual inspection before measurement is preferred. The internal memory allows for the storage and uploading of measurements from over 500 12-fiber cables, including cable and fiber numbers, wavelength, absolute value, or insertion loss. With the Data Exporter software, users can export stored data to Excel spreadsheets or other applications. The built-in rechargeable Li-Pol battery ensures long-term operation with a minimum lifespan of 2 years. Batteries can be charged via a USB port.
