The OFT-820-POF series attenuation test device is designed for testing POF (Plastic Optical Fiber) networks. It combines two optical testing devices—a light source and a power meter—into a single unit. The tester can be used as a portable power meter or as a USB probe, part of a test workstation. The optical light source meets all necessary technical requirements for field measurements of POF networks. It emits optical light through the output interface, which is available in operational wavelengths of 650 nm and 850 nm. The optical power meter is designed for measuring absolute or relative optical power in POF networks. The memory capacity allows for the storage and uploading of up to 3000 measurements, including memory position or fiber number, wavelength, absolute or relative value, and insertion loss. The PC evaluation software SmartProtocol supports memory downloads, report generation, and data export for downloading data into an Excel spreadsheet. The rechargeable battery ensures long-term operation with a minimum lifespan of 2 years. The removable and interchangeable IN/OUT adapters facilitate easy maintenance and cleaning of both connectors, making the tester versatile for a wide range of applications with various POF connectors. The design of the input and output adapters is identical.
